Coach’s Message
The Week Of
August 26, 2007
Greetings all CVA families,
I would like to first off welcome Kelli Coffelt to the team. Kelli is
12, she swam in our summer Porpoise program and has decided to
continue swimming year round. Please join me in welcoming Kelli, her mom
Katy and dad Mike to the team.
I hope you all had a great weekend, I spent mine working and with the
family.
When you have the opportunity visit the web site (cvaswim.org).
David Zhu has made some updates and he has done a wonderful job. Thank you
David for all of your hard work!!
We are coming into the end of August. September will be the CVA
pentathlon, please visit our website to sign up for the meet.
Richard Kennell, our team store director, is looking into team sweat
suits. With Autumn and Winter around the corner this is a great time to
'gear-up'. If you need parkas or sweat suites speak with Richard he can
fill you in on the details.
I know school has started and every child is now filling their schedule
with school activities and homework. Scholar athletes need to be focused.
CVA athletes should be reminded that adequate sleep, nutritious meals and
sustained focus are important. As athletes they should be prepared to make
sacrifices. When one is devoted to doing well in school and performing
their best in the pool they need to be reminded of why they are doing these
things. Children sometimes have difficulty looking farther then 'the now'.
As parents and coaches let's continue to remind them of the benefits of
being physically fit and performing their best in school.
Until next week have a wonderful day and a pleasant tomorrow.
As always if you need to speak with me I am available after practice
M-F on the pool deck, by e-mail at cvaheadcoach@gmail.com or on the team
phone at (209) 535-1154.
Coach Ryan
